News Agenda

To ready for the quiz every Friday, I read newspaper everyday. I did not have the habit to read newspaper everyday because my family ordered Chinese newspaper and as I am a ‘banana’ who cant read Chinese, I always missed those news and did not know what was going on outside the world until my mum told me some of the news or I watch the television news. To ready myself so that I can answer the quiz in class, I started to buy newspaper everyday and I choose ‘The Star’ as my choice. I choose this newspaper is because most of my relatives who can’t read Chinese would read this newspaper. I did not choose ‘The News Strait Times Press’ because I have already used to it to read ‘The Star’ more than ‘NSTP’.
I prefer to read through newspaper is because I can read it carefully every word and repeat it whenever I did not understand and want to have a clear message about the news. I also love to see the advertisement and if there is any sale is coming up. In newspaper, they have the entire column which I need or did not need such as ‘Star Metro’ where all the jobs, houses, cars, shops, business for sale and buy, and also service repair available. It helps me once when my refrigerator broke down and I need some one to help me repair it. Newspapers also have some column which is my favorite. It is the part where the comics and games such as ‘Sudoku’ and also the daily horoscope reading available.
I did not prefer to read news online as my first source although it was quite convenience now is because online news are only some news which is highlighted and was given more attention then those small news. Not all news printed in newspaper also posted and could be found in the online newspaper website. Reading online is also not convenience because we need to click on the news title to read it. After finish reading it, we need to click back to the previous main page to click into another news title. It is quite time consuming to doing that all the time.
Watching news on television is also the same. Only some highlighted news which was counted more serious or big matter reported and also news which had video clip to shown. Not these only, we have to wait until which channel was showing it at what time was the English version news was shown.
I did not prefer to update news by listen to radio that often because radio’s news is just by speaking through words and it is not easy for me to catch really what detail in the news. In addition, radio could not give us to see the images and we only could think the images of the news through our imagination.
For most of all, reading newspaper is so flexible for me. It did not as the same as the television news and radio news which was only reported at several selected time. I can read my newspaper whenever I have my free time, such as waiting at the bus stop, in the LRT, in the toilet or while having lunch. It was so convenience and I can bring it anywhere not likes online news, I need to bring my heavy laptop and find places which have provided free internet line.

Vox PoP: What do you think about parking inside and outside UCSI?

What do you think about parking inside and outside UCSI?

Hue Jiang Hui
Parking lot in UCSI does not meet student's demand and need to improve. It did not have any shady and cool place for parking. The requirement of parking lot increase due from time to time. The football field be the temporarily parking lot. Even green field become muddy field. Parking at UCSI outside save more money but risky.

Geraldine Cheong Syeet Yeng
It is limited and I hate the part when there is no parking, we need to park up the hill. Not only was that, parking outside of UCSI damn jammed. They do not think bout the consequence and no responsible at all. I rather park in the Giant car park and pay RM1 compare to UCSI car park which cost RM2 and still need to walk up to the hill.

Shermaine Yan
UCSI parking very terrible because it always RESERVE RESERVE. Can I know how to get a reserve parking? Because if no parking, we have to park up the HILL there. The environment was damn terrible over there! About outside parking I have no comment, but park inside UCSI is more safety then park outside.

Rachel Muriel
Parking as we all know, the parking in UCSI is insufficient! And even though there’s a front spot for 'visitors’, but that spot also taken up by students also and there is still parking at the top hill? Well its very uneven and scattered, as you know, I rather park in Giant's rooftop or the spot next to MCD (without yellow line). Park outside also worry that will summon by police if did not park inside the parking lane. It’s the lack of spots that make students park outside irresponsibly and illegally! And that causes double parking and jammed.

Cindy Chan Yee Ting
In my opinion, park inside UCSI is kind of safe rather than outside. But then, the uphill is not so convenience too, the rock up the hill spoils your shoes and your tires. It is quite interesting I never get flat tyre because of that; they should at least have some smooth tar pavement. Park inside we also worry, because if we parked wrong place, out car will be clamp by the security and we have to pay for it to unclamp our car. Park outside is very dangerous but no need to pay entry fees is an advantage of it.
